Number One Goal for DECA:

My number one goal for Arizona DECA this year is to increase membership and engagement among underrepresented groups, such as students from low-income communities, students with disabilities, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds. This goal aligns with DECA's mission of preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs, and it would help to promote diversity and inclusivity within the organization.

A Bit About Me

Hello Arizona DECA, My name is Drake Maestas, and I am so honored to serve as the Arizona DECA VP of Leadership for team 63! I have been involved in Arizona DECA for all 4 years of my high school experience and if I could turn back time, I would join straight away again! I go to Casa Grande Union High School in my home town of Casa Grande. Casa Grande is where I love to hang out with my family and friends, go to work with my dad at our detailing company, and help build up my city stronger each year! Some of my other hobbies include swimming, running, working out, mountain climbing, staying up late raiding the fridge at 10pm, and traveling! With the experience I take away from Arizona DECA and my school’s programs I plan to attend ASU for business management with a minor in entrepreneurship, where after earning my masters degree I will continue my career in the business field with a shared business from my father and myself to make it state wide and to expand into all of Arizona!! One quote that has really inspired me to push forward with my goals comes from my own dad “If you have strength, protect them, if you have a voice, preach to them, and if you have both, be a leader”. With all this in mind my plan is to make sure Arizona DECA is able to provide all DECA chapters and it’s members the utilities and resources it needs for success in their own career paths and where they want to go!
